It’s a pleasure to read Kosa Ely’s The Jaguar’s Story and to be drawn emotionally into the struggle to preserve the rainforest and its creatures. Readers not only learn about the problem of habitat destruction and endangered species, but also grow in empathy and concern. Both the storytelling and illustrations are superb, and they stay with readers long after the book is closed. The Jaguar’s Story should be a curriculum resource in every elementary unit on science and geography, as well as being an excellent addition to any home library. It’s a great treasure. —Dr. Edith Best, author, teacher, educator
